Park Forest man kidnapped woman, sexually assaulted her: cops

Man jailed on several felony charges in Will County over incident

A Park Forest man was arrested after he kidnapped a woman, held her at gunpoint and sexually assaulted her, police said.

About 6 p.m. on Sunday, the Park Forest Police Department was informed by another police agency that a Chicago woman with serious injuries to her face had reported she was attacked and kidnapped, according to Park Forest Police Chief Christopher Mannino.

“The victim suffered a broken jaw and is recuperating, and we wish her a full recovery following this traumatic incident,” Mannino said.

The woman was receiving treatment at a hospital and reported that while at a home on Arbor Trail in Park Forest, she was attacked and then forced to accompany a man at gunpoint while she was driven around the area, Mannino said.

“She also reported being sexually assaulted,” he said.

Park Forest police detectives commenced an investigation and identified Eariss Dean, 31, of the first block of Arbor Trail as the suspect, Mannino said.

The Will County State’s Attorney’s Office reviewed evidence in the case and a judge authorized a search warrant for Dean’s residence, Mannino said.

About 9:15 p.m. Sunday, detectives saw Dean driving near his residence, stopped him and placed him in custody without incident, he said.

The search warrant was executed at his residence and evidence was recovered by detectives, he said. A crime scene investigation unit with Illinois State Police provided assistance.

The investigation continued and prosecutors approved criminal charges against Dean, according to Mannino.

He was charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault, aggravated battery, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated unlawful restraint.

He was taken to the Will Count jail and his bond was set at $500,000.
