Reed-Custer hosted the Comet Classic Invite on Friday and Saturday, where 28 teams from across the state got a vital tuneup for the upcoming postseason.

All but one individual match between Joliet West and Joliet Central's girls wrestling squads was decided by pin, with only one more making it to the third round. The Steelmen came out on top of a tight battle.

With a recent title at Abe's Rumble and seven active wrestlers with 100 career wins or more, Coal City's boys wrestling team is putting together a memorable season in its search for a second straight dual team state title, and third in four years.

Coal City beat Bishop McNamara 81-0 and Morris 66-12 to improve to 17-0 on the season while junior Cooper Morris became the fourth Coaler this season, and seventh active Coal City wrestler, to reach 100 career wins.
