Whiteside Health Department offering pop-up clinics Thursday, free rapid COVID tests daily

The Whiteside County Health Department is holding two pop-up COVID-19 clinics Thursday.

The first is from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Prophetstown High School, 38 Ferry St., and the second is from 1 to 3 p.m. at Erie High School, 435 Sixth Ave.

Both will provide free Pfizer vaccines to anyone 12 and older. Anyone younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

In addition, the health department now is offering free rapid drive-up COVID-19 antigen testing from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at its tent in the north parking lot at the Community Health Clinic, 1300 W. Second St. in Rock Falls. No appointment is needed.

Those who are interested in receiving a copy of their results, for school, work or other events, must wait on-site until they are available.

Those who need a PCR test can call the clinic at 815-626-2230 for an appointment.
