High school sports roundup for Tuesday, March 15: Miranda BonDurant homers twice, Kora Navarro once in Montini win

SOFTBALL

Montini 12, Regina Dominican 2

Miranda BonDurant homered twice and went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs scored for Montini. Kora Navarro went 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs, and allowed two runs and two hits over five innings pitched. Erin Grimsley went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Nazareth 8, Reavis 2

Bella Rychetsky struck out 13, Ava Calderon went 4-for-4 and Emme Barnes slugged a solo home run for Nazareth.

GIRLS SOCCER

Morton 4, Joliet West 0

Carisma Rosales and Esmeralda Bautista each had a goal and an assist and Mayte Gongora and Aaliyah Leanos also scores goals for Morton.

Benet 4, Wheaton Academy 0

Sadie Sterbenz scored twice and added an assist in the season-opening win for Benet. Rachel Burns added a goal and an assist. Mariana Pinto also scored, and Bailey Abbott had an assist. Shannon Clark earned the shutout in goal.

BASEBALL

Westmont 8, Aurora Central Catholic 7

Westmont gave up six runs in the bottom of the first inning, pecked away to take a 7-6 lead in the top of the seventh and lost on a walk-off. Lucas Hicks had two RBIs and Caleb Kleinz went 2-for-4 with two singles, a run scored and RBI for Westmont.
