Glenbard South spent most of Monday’s Upstate Eight Conference softball game looking content to nibble away at Ridgewood pitching, playing small ball with timely singles and good baserunning. Until it was time for one big hit to put the game away. The result was an 11-0 win.

Downers Grove North graduates and siblings Payton Janicki and Jimmy Janicki homered in college games less than 30 minutes apart on April 11. They don’t subscribe to a cosmic connection. The connection is with older brother Nicholas Janicki, who died eight years ago on April 20.
