Just peachy: Georgia fruit headed to Batavia Moose Lodge, other stops

More than 30 locations throughout northern Illinois are destinations for the Tree-Ripe Fruit peach truck, promising to bring fresh peaches direct from farms in Georgia within days of being picked.

The family-owned business has been bringing fruits, nuts, berries and citrus to the Midwest since 1990.

“This year, customers are in for a real treat, as the weather has allowed for one of the best peach crops in the past 20 years,” third-generation owner Tiernan Paine said in a news release. “This means people will be able to purchase as many peaches as they want, unlike the limits of previous years.”

Also offered will be Georgia pecans, New Mexico pistachios and Michigan blueberries.

In addition, Tree-Ripe Fruit is conducting a Golden Peach giveaway. Ten golden peaches will be randomly placed in boxes throughout the season. The lucky people who find one will win free seasonal fruit for the year.

“While we are well known for our Georgia peaches, many of our customers are not aware that we offer other incredible fruit all year round, like Oregon pears, Wisconsin apples and Florida satsuma mandarin oranges,” Paine said, noting they ship fruit directly to customers during peak seasons. “This promotion is a fun way to give back to our amazing customers by sharing even more … fruit with them.”

For its Peach Stop truck deliveries, Tree-Ripe Fruit partners with Pearson Farm, a fifth-generation Georgia peach farm.

The Illinois locations will offer Georgia peaches in a 25-pound case for $43; Georgia pecans in a 1-pound bag for $13; New Mexico pistachios, 1-pound bag for $13; and Michigan blueberries in a 5-pound case for $20.
