Batavia fireworks show set for July 4

Public warned of traffic delays, no alcohol, dogs, sparklers or fireworks

BATAVIA – Batavia is hosting its annual fireworks sky concert from 9:30 to 10 p.m. July 4, officials announced in a news release.

The event will be held at Engstrom Park on Main Street and Millview Drive and the Batavia High School athletic practice fields between Main and West Wilson streets.

Food vendors will be onsite starting at 5 p.m.

Motorists leaving the event area or traveling through the city’s west side will have significant traffic delays, the release stated.

Those most impacted will be Randall Road from Main Street to Fabyan Parkway, West Wilson and Main streets around the high school and Route 31 through the downtown.

All routes will have various barricades and detours posted.

Alcoholic beverage and dogs are prohibited at this event and fireworks and sparklers are prohibited within the city limits of Batavia, the release stated.
