Fire causes $5,000 damage to St. Charles house Wednesday

A fire caused approximately $5,000 in damage to a house at 4207 Royal Saint Anne Court in St. Charles Wednesday morning.

No one was injured in the fire and the cause of the fire is under investigation. The house remains habitable, according to a news release from the St. Charles Fire Department.

At 9:20 a.m. Wednesday, the St. Charles Fire Department was dispatched to 4207 Royal Saint Anne Court for a report of fire in the sunroom. Firefighters were on the scene by 9:25 am and found a moderate smoke inside the sunroom with visible fire in the ceiling, the release stated. The fire was brought under control with six minutes.

The St. Charles Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Geneva, Batavia, Elburn, West Chicago and South Elgin fire departments.
