Valentine’s Day promotion encourages residents to visit Geneva shops, restaurants

GENEVA – Facebook group “Experience Geneva, IL” is holding a Valentine’s weekend promotion to encourage residents to visit downtown Geneva shops and restaurants.

According to a news release, the “Follow Your Heart” promotion is Feb. 12-14. Shoppers can enjoy deals from 40 participating shops and restaurants, and have a chance to win a grand prize gift basket valued at $300.

“Experience Geneva, IL” is a Facebook group that promotes downtown Geneva businesses. This event is the first of a series of promotions designed to attract customers to downtown Geneva to enjoy its many shops and restaurants, the release stated.

The cost for a ticket is $15, and each participant will get a branded Experience Geneva, IL tote bag and a player card listing the deals available that weekend. Each purchase or meal earns a sticker worth one raffle entry. At the end of the weekend, participants turn in their raffle sheet to be entered for a chance to win the gift box filled with prizes and gift certificates. The gift box winner will be announced Feb. 15.
