Death of Elburn baby ruled a homicide

The Elburn Police Department continues to investigate the homicide of a 2-month-old boy.

At approximately 7:33 a.m. Friday, the Elburn Police Department was dispatched to the 800 block of Kindberg Court along with paramedics for a report of an infant who was experiencing difficulty breathing, according to a news release from the Elburn Police Department.

The infant was trasported to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva and was later transferred to Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, where he died on Sunday, the release stated. The Cook County Medical Examiners Office completed an autopsy on Tuesday and listed the cause of death as homicide.

The boy has been identified as Kasen Kaitharath.
