‘Yo Mama’ taunt results in felony charges of aggravated battery with strangulation

Batavia muffler shop employee thought they were joking around – until she was choked

BATAVIA – An employee of a car repair shop reported that a coworker pushed her against a desk and choked her because she said, “Yo Mama,” to him, according to a Batavia police report released after a Freedom of Information Act request.

Jeremy J. Sherman, 33, of the 800 block of Pearl Street, Aurora, was charged Jan. 18 with two counts of felony aggravated battery with strangulation, according to police and court records.
