Batavia Chamber celebrates Brother Chimp Brewing with ribbon cutting ceremony

The Batavia Chamber of Commerce celebrated Chamber member Brother Chimp Brewing with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, Oct. 20 at the newly expanded taproom located at 1059 W. Orchard Road in North Aurora, according to a news release from the Chamber.

North Aurora Village President Mark Gaffino presided over the celebration, along with business owner Steve Newman. Among the well-wishers were Newman’s wife, Laura Newman, Batavia Mayor Jeffery Schielke, North Aurora trustees and Batavia aldermen Leah Lehman and Nick Cerrone. Jessica Voigt, taproom manager; Sam Altaner, head brewer; and Mike Everitt, lead bartender for Brother Chimp Brewing were also on hand. Also in attendance were Batavia Chamber President & CEO Margaret Perreault, chamber Communications and Membership Coordinator Shirley Mott, chamber Special Events Coordinator Patti Anselme, ambassadors and members, as well as fellow business owners.

According to the release, Brother Chimp Brewing was founded in 2018 and offers handcrafted, traditional, small batch beers. The taproom opened in March 2020, only to be immediately shut down because of COVID-19. It has recently expanded, allowing for trivia nights, live music and more. Taproom hours are Monday – Thursday, 3 to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 12 to 10 p.m.; and Sunday, 12 to 7 p.m.
