Plumes of black smoke could be seen wafting through the air Friday afternoon from a car fire in front of the parking lot of Sycamore Speedway.

The fire broke out Friday afternoon. Authorities from the Kane County Sheriff’s Office and Maple Park police were among those who responded at about 3 p.m..

The operators of Sycamore Speedway, 50W086 Illinois Route 64 in Maple Park, could not immediately be reached for comment.
