St. Charles Police Department announces results of traffic enforcement campaign

The St. Charles Police Department conducted additional traffic enforcement Dec. 18-Jan. 4, reminding motorists to buckle up and not drive impaired, day or night, as part of the nationwide Click It or Ticket/Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement effort.

The St. Charles Police Department issued two speeding tickets as well as two citations to uninsured motorists as part of a recent traffic enforcement campaign.

The St. Charles Police Department conducted additional traffic enforcement Dec. 18-Jan. 4, reminding motorists to buckle up and not drive impaired, day or night, as part of the nationwide Click It or Ticket/Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement effort. As part of the campaign, the department also issued an additional 14 citations for a variety of other offenses.

The St. Charles Police joined other state and local law enforcement agencies across Illinois to reduce highway deaths by issuing citations to unbuckled motorists and arresting impaired drivers. During the mobilization, the police department also issued three distracted driving citations and six other citations.

The Click It or Ticket/Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over mobilization was made possible with federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
