Girls Volleyball: Five players to watch in the Kane County Chronicle coverage area

Kaneland's Madison Buckley

Here are five players to watch this season in the Kane County Chronicle coverage area.

Maddie Buckley, Kaneland, sr., outside hitter

Buckley, a Ball State recruit, dominated opposing defenses last season. Buckley had 15 aces, an 82% serving percentage, 135 kills, 66 digs and 16 blocks in 16 matches. Look for a repeat performance – with hopefully a lot more matches.

Lauren Benson, Geneva, jr., middle

Benson might be a darkhorse for a breakout season. After a solid, perhaps under the radar sophomore season for the Vikings, Benson should have more room to star after some high profile graduations following their conference title. Benson had 55 kills, 78 digs and 13 blocks last year.

Madi Danielson, Geneva, sr., outside hitter

Danielson, like Benson, should be primed for a tremendous season. Danielson last year had 81 kills, 78 digs and 15 aces. Look for her to be atop the stat sheet on a nightly basis.

Meghan O’Sullivan, Kaneland, setter, sr.

O’Sullivan, a Grand Valley commit, was an all-area honorable mention last season after a highly impressive season to the tune of 23 aces, serving 89%, 36 kills, 18 block, 250 assist, 69 digs in 16 matches.

Kyra Taylor, Batavia, sr., outside hitter

Taylor was one of the Bulldogs’ top offensive threats last season by pounding 85 kills, 98 digs and 20 aces.
