After going back and forth for the majority of the contest, Benet pulled away in the final set with six of the final eight points to come away with a three set victory over St. Charles North.

Wednesday was not the day St. Charles North was ready to concede its run, winning its nonconference match over St. Francis, 25-18, 25-22 in St. Charles. That extended its match-winning streak to 17 and its set-winning streak to 34.

Kaneland secured a 25-15, 16-25, 25-23 Interstate 8 Conference victory over Sycamore on Tuesday in girls volleyball action.

The Kaneland volleyball team hosted conference foe Sycamore Tuesday night in Maple Park.

St. Charles East senior Kaylee McInnis, who had 26 kills, 19 digs and five aces in wins against Glenbard North and West Chicago, is the Kane County Chronicle Athlete of the Week based on an online vote.

St. Charles North girls volleyball won it's 14th consecutive DuKane Conference game with a straight sets win over Batavia, while the boys soccer team also stayed undefeated in conference play with a 3-0 win over the Bulldogs. That and more in Tuesday's roundup.

Crystal Lake Central senior Alexis Hadeler almost recorded a double-double with nine kills and 10 digs while freshman Jordyn Johnson came up with clutch shots of her own for the Tigers in a 26-24, 25-19 win over Burlington Central on Thursday.
