Distance Night in Palatine

Batavia’s Katrina Schlenker ran a school record 2:13.43 800 at the Distance Night in Palatine, good for fifth place.

Geneva’s Tim Archibald was sixth in the 800 (1:55.76) and St. Charles East’s Zack Loomis (4:17.80) and Luke Schildmeyer (4:19.24) was fourth and sixth, respectively, in the 1,600. Geneva’s Ben Calusinski was fifth in the 3,200 in 9:05.24.

GIRLS SOCCER

St. Charles East 3, Lake Park 0

Hannah Miller scored two goals assisted by Jenna Sitta, and Olivia Guerri scored a goal assisted by Libby Thomas for the Saints (11-0, 8-0 DuKane Conference). Sophia Iori and Grace Stehman combined on the shutout in goal.

St. Charles North 4, Wheaton Warrenville South 3

The North Stars scored three goals in the second half to rally from down 3-1 at half. Sophia Sutherland scored two goals, including the tying goal assisted by Makenna Collins in the 57th minute, and Bridget Wolf scored the go-ahead goal assisted by Collins in the 58th minute for St. Charles North (5-3-2, 5-2-1).

BASEBALL

Geneva 5, St. Charles East 1

St. Charles East 7, Geneva 6

Caleb Hubbard and Jack Lawson each had three hits and Braden Rood and Hubbard each had two RBIs for the Saints in the second game, St. Charles East scoring the winning run in the bottom of the seventh. Brian Wrenn and Aiden Sheehan combined on an eight-hitter for Geneva in the first game.

SOFTBALL

Kaneland 14, Cary-Grove 0

Grace Algrim struck out 10 and allowed one hit over five innings, Danyelle Borysiewicz went 3-for-3 at the plate and the Knights scored 10 runs in the first inning.
