High school sports roundup for Tuesday, May 4: Geneva hands St. Charles North baseball first loss

BASEBALL

Geneva 3, St. Charles North 2

Sean Kennedy pitched six innings, allowing just two runs with six strikeouts. Ethan Mayer, Ryan Huskey and Daniel Alworth all had RBIs to knock off the North Stars and end their 13-game winning streak to start the season. Ethan Kobylinski had an RBI for the North Stars, while Scott Lee pitched 3.2 innings pitched and allowed two runs with five strikeouts.

St. Charles East 11, Wheaton Warrenville South 1

St. Charles East’s Jake Zitella had three hits, including two home runs and five RBIs. Caleb Hubbard had two RBIs and AJ Gaca had two hits. Gavin Sitarz got the victory with five innings of solid work.

Huntley 7, Burlington Central 5

Jack Gilroy and Tristian Samuelian each went 2-for-4 for the Rockets with home runs, respectively.

GIRLS SOCCER

St. Charles East 6, Batavia 0

Six different Saints tallied scores for St. Charles East: Ashley Stellon, Hannah Miller, Emma Sitta, McKenna Gahagan, Megan Sreniawski and Ella Stehman. Sophia Iori and Grace Stehman combined for the shutout for the Saints (9-0, 6-0).
