Third-seeded St. Charles used three straight turnovers to force a momentum swing, scoring 19 consecutive points for a come-from-behind 26-23 victory over 14th-seeded Carmel to advance to the Class 7A playoff quarterfinals.

Landon Arnold didn't want to give the ball up, and the Burlington Central senior QB delivered. Arnold ran the ball seven times for 80 yards on a game-clinching drive as the Rockets topped Harlem 24-14 to reach the quarterfinals for the first time since 2006.

St. Charles North won its home sectional with 312 points while West Chicago was second with 280 points. Tess Stavropoulos won the 100 and 200 free for the North Stars.

Peyton Shipley made the biggest play of St. Francis' season as he forced a fumble late in the third quarter. St. Francis recovered and seized control in a 41-38 victory to knock off the previously unbeaten and Class 5A top-seeded Prairie Ridge.

After spending four years in the Marines, Shannon Moose has now made a name at St. Charles North as the head athletic trainer.
