Little Caesars closes in Dixon

DIXON – Pizza pizza has closed closed.

Little Caesars closed its location at 828 N. Galena Ave. on Tuesday, disconnected its phone number and removed its signs.

It employed eight people, including general manager Kayla Holocker. Her staff was informed of the closure that morning, she said.

Holocker cited the abundance of pizza restaurants in town as a factor.

“We weren’t getting enough business.”

The carry-out pizza chain, the third-largest in the nation, opened in Dixon on July 12, 2016, next door to Angelo’s, a popular local chain.

It was takeout only until Door Dash delivery services began in January.

Little Caesars’ Rock Falls location in the Centennial Plaza strip mall, 1015 First Ave., Rock Falls, remains open.

Only a couple of employees, including Holocker, were offered positions in Rock Falls, she said.
