Mr. and Mrs. George Baker Jr. celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. George Baker Jr. of Granville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner on July 20.

George W. Baker Jr. and the former Diane M. Romagnoli were married July 19, 1969, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Granville. They first lived in an apartment in Granville and shortly after purchased a home in Standard.

They are the parents of four children, Jennifer (Baker) Koyak of Oglesby, George William Baker III (deceased), Jared (Rhiannon Petzel) Baker of Granville and Aaron (Janelle Baker) Weddell of Granville. They also have seven grandchildren, Allison and Benjamin Koyak, Blake, Beckham and Brinkley Baker, and Nolan and Kael Weddell.

George was employed by Local 112 as an iron worker. Diane was employed by Eakas and worked on the assembly line. They enjoy their dog, Marlee, playing with their grandchildren, fishing (George), shopping (Diane) and spending time at their Florida home.
