Ogle County State’s Attorney Eric Morrow reports the following court activity.
April 13
Erik Steffins, 42, Rochelle, pleaded guilty to aggravated reckless driving, a Class 4 felony, and to a Class A misdemeanor of driving while under the influence of alcohol.
Ogle County Circuit Court Judge John B. Roe sentenced Steffins to serve 180 days periodic imprisonment and 30 months probation.
He must also cooperate with and satisfactorily complete psychological or substance abuse assessments or treatments, and submit to random drug and alcohol testing. He must also submit to DNA testing and attend a victim impact panel.
He was fined $600 and ordered to pay $750 as a probation fee, $100 as a lab fee, $100 to the trauma center fund, and $2,593.24 in restitution.

Shane Brogan, 18, Mt. Morris, pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor domestic battery charge.
Ogle County Associate Circuit Court Judge Kathleen Kauffmann sentenced him to 270 days imprisonment. He was also fined $500 fine and ordered to pay $200 as a domestic violence fine, $25 to HOPE, and $75 to the Violent Crime Victim Assistance (VCVA) Fund.
One count of domestic battery was dismissed per a plea agreement.
