DeKalb School District 428 held its second annual District Spelling Bee on Jan. 29. Five students from Clinton Rosette Middle School competed with five students from Huntley Middle School for two spots at the county spelling bee. After 22 rounds, Nolan Bunger, a sixth-grader at Huntley became the District Spelling Bee Champion. Abby Jamison, a seventh grader at Clinton Rosette, placed second. Other competing students include Trey Burchell, Dasjha Equasa, Bethany Lexa, Tate Mangum, Asia McCaskel, Keegan Moore, Emilie Schramer and Jordan Weiss.
