Kyoto Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar, 5690 Northwest Highway, has been selected by the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors to receive the Pride in Crystal Lake Award (PICA).

Kyoto Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar is being recognized for improving the quality of life, the physical appearance, the ambiance of the Crystal Lake community and for serving as a catalyst for commercial development in Crystal Lake.

A Crystal Lake business since 1999, Kyoto Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar recently purchased a formally vacant restaurant building with the vision of making it a permanent location for their restaurant.  Additionally, they invested significantly to renovate the interior and exterior of the building to add new dining areas, cooking facilities and outside seating.

Kyoto has proven their business strength and ability to not only survive in these economic times, but flourish and support their community with building enhancements that improve the appearance and experience of dining in Crystal Lake, said Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce President Gary Reece.

The Pride in Crystal Lake Award is presented quarterly to a business, organization or individual who has exhibited “pride in Crystal Lake.” The award is co-sponsored by the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce and Schafer Brothers Remodeling, Inc.
