George E. Draege, 78, died Monday, July 18, 2011 at Pinecrest Terrace, Mt. Morris.
He was born Nov. 24, 1932 in Oregon, the son of Christian and Emma (Andrew) Draege.
He graduated form Oregon High School in 1950.
He married Ruth Bonnell on June 12, 1954 at the Chana United Methodist Church.
Draege worked 34 years for Woods Brother's Manufacturing, Oregon, retiring in 1989.
He was a former member of the Oregon Ambulance Service, loved to do woodworking, and formerly square danced with the Blackhawk Twirlers.
He was an active member of the Chana United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife Ruth, Oregon, five children, Susan Mooney, Mt. Morris, Sally (Aaron) Crump, Spring Grove, Barbara (Robert) Horst, McAllen, Texas, Beverly (Keith) Linzemann, Oregon, and Chris (Jodi) Draege, Rochelle; a sister, Violet (John) Ebens, Chana; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and two grandsons, Joshua Crump and Dennis Toomsen.
Funeral service will be Friday, July 22 at 10:30 a.m. at the Chana United Methodist Church with the Pastor Kim Chapman and Pastor David Rogula officiating.
Burial will be in the Washington Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 110 S. Seventh St., Oregon.
A memorial fund has been established for Pinecrest Terrace and the Chana United Methodist Church.
