Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers will open a new location in Romeoville next year, the village announced.

The new location will be built at 460 S. Weber Road in front of the former Sam’ Club which will soon open as Scene75, according to a village Facebook post.

“It’s always fun when we get to announce that we’re coming to a new area and reach new guests who may not have tried our concept before,” franchise owner Eric Cole said in a statement. “We look forward to getting to know and serving the Romeoville community.”

Cole added he hopes to have a formal development timeline to announce in the coming months in anticipation of opening the new location in the late spring of next year.

Spokeswoman Kim Huynh said the company plans to hire about 50 local workers at the new location. She added the company offers competitive wages and benefits though the starting wage will be determined when construction nears completion and the company looks to hire.

Freddy’s already has over 400 locations in 34 states.
