Joliet garbage schedule unchanged by MLK Day

City Hall will be closed for holiday, but Waste Management schedule will stay the same

The Joliet City Council approved a new Waste Management contract on Tuesday.

Waste Management garbage collection and recycling schedules in Joliet will not be changed because of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday next week, the city announced.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is Monday. The Waste Management schedule will continue as normal throughout the week.

However, City Hall will be closed Monday in observation of the holiday.

There will be no charge for parking in the downtown parking decks and no enforcement of parking meters on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, according to the city.
