A pavement sealing project starts Thursday for a stretch of Route 30 from Crest Hill into Joliet.
The Illinois Department of Transportation said Monday that the repair work from Larkin Avenue to Jefferson Street will involve occasional lane closures and should be completed by mid-August.
The project “consists of routing, cleaning and sealing cracks in the concrete pavement to extend its useful life,” IDOT said in a news release.
Access to residences and businesses will be maintained during construction, IDOT said. The project is scheduled to start Thursday, weather permitting.
