Woman slapped officer, man struck guard at Anthony’s Restaurant and Pub in Joliet: cops

Officers arrested 3 who refused to leave the bar, police said

Three people were arrested at Anthony’s Restaurant and Pub after one of them slapped a Joliet police officer and another struck a security guard in the face, police said.

At 11:48 p.m. Sunday, an officer working a special assignment at the 3151 Voyager Lane bar was notified by staff that three patrons were refusing to leave the bar, Joliet police said in a news release.

The officer met with Leticia Gonzalez, 36, and her brother Christopher Gonzalez, 39, both of Joliet, at the front of the bar, and both refused to obey the officer’s instruction to leave, police said.

“The officer advised that they would be arrested if they continued to remain on the premises, at which time Leticia Gonzalez slapped the officer in the face,” police said.

When Leticia Gonzalez was taken into custody, her brother attempted to interfere with the officer, police said.

A security guard for Anthony’s tried to intervene and Christopher Gonzalez struck the guard in the face, police said.

“Anthony’s security struggled with Christopher Gonzalez until officers could place him into custody,” police said.

Ismael Vital, 38, of Joliet also refused multiple orders by officers to leave the bar and was arrested as well, police said.

Leticia and Christopher Gonzalez were taken to the Will County jail. Vital was released on his own recognizance.

Several other arrests have occurred at or outside Anthony’s this year.

On Feb. 6, Victor Salgado, 23, of Cicero was arrested after allegedly striking a woman in the face, police said.

On Jan. 30, Richard Rocha, 24, of Bolingbrook allegedly threatened to kill officers and struck one officer outside of the bar, police said.

Before Rocha’s arrest, an officer working a special assignment at Anthony’s responded to a large group of people fighting outside the bar, police said.
