Man struck woman’s face at Anthony’s bar in Joliet: cops

A Cicero man was arrested at Anthony’s Restaurant and Pub for striking a woman in the face, police said.

About 2:30 a.m. Saturday, an officer who was working a contracted security detail at Anthony’s was notified of a fight in the 3151 Voyager Lane bar, according to Joliet police.

The officer met with Victor Salgado, 23, and it was determined that Salgado “struck a female patron of the bar in the face,” police said.

Salgado was taken into custody without incident. He was released on his own recognizance following his arrest for probable cause of battery.

Salgado is scheduled to appear in court on March 18 over the incident.

On Jan. 30, officers broke up a large fight outside of Anthony’s and arrested Richard Rocha, 24, of Bolingbrook, when he threatened to kill officers and struck one officer, police said.

Rocha was taken to the Will County jail and released the same day after posting 10% of his $50,000 bond.

Bryson Carter, 26, of Joliet, has been charged in connection with a Dec. 13 incident where a bouncer from Anthony’s was shot and injured on Interstate 55.

Prosecutors said in a forfeiture complaint that Carson and another person had been kicked out of Anthony’s after getting into fight with bouncers.

At least three other arrests occurred at Anthony’s last year. The arrests involved charges of aggravated battery to a police officer, criminal trespassing and resisting an officer, according to police records.

Rayel Flores has an ongoing lawsuit against Anthony’s and Juan Acosta, whom Flores has accused of attacking him. Flores was arrested at the bar in 2019 but no charges were ever filed against him.
