A woman was arrested after she struck a woman with a vehicle outside Eden’s Bar & Grill in Joliet, put the vehicle in reverse and struck another woman, police said.

Both victims have been hospitalized and one of them has injures that are life threatening, police said.

At about 2:05 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to Eden’s Bar & Grill, 926 Gardner St., for a report of a fight in the parking lot, according to a Joliet police news release.

Officers learned two women had been struck by a vehicle during the incident, police said.

Further investigation revealed that during the fight in the parking lot, a vehicle driven by Dontayasia Stephens, 24, of Joliet, had struck and injured a woman, police said.

“During the course of this incident, Stephens placed her vehicle in reverse and struck a second female adult victim,” police said.

Stephens fled the scene in the vehicle, police said. Officers later found Stephens and her vehicle in the area and placed her in custody without incident.

While officers were attempting to render aid to one of the victims in the incident, a man identified as Michael Price, 29, of Joliet, had “refused commands and struck an officer,” police said.

Price was taken into custody without incident, police said.

Both victims were taken to AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center by paramedics with the Joliet Fire Department.

“Injuries to one of the victims was considered life-threatening,” police said.

The incident remains under investigation.

Stephens was taken to the Will County jail at 10:38 a.m. on Saturday on probable cause of aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, according to the jail log.

Price was taken to jail at 6:57 a.m. on probable cause of resisting arrest and aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, jail records show.
