The woman who died in a car crash on the northeast side of Joliet was identified by the Will County Coroner’s Office on Tuesday.

Jaicely Luevano-Lara, 18, of Joliet, was the woman who was killed after she lost control of her SUV and was struck by a semitrailer driven by a 57-year-old man, according to the coroner’s office.

“Preliminary autopsy reports showed multiple injuries due to a motor vehicle collision,” coroner officials said.

Luevano-Lara was pronounced deceased at 9 a.m. Monday on Louise Ray Parkway, 1000 feet from Woodruff Road, coroner officials said. Joliet police officers responded to that area to investigate the crash.

A preliminary investigation indicated Luevano-Lara was traveling northwest on Louise Ray Parkway when she lost control of the vehicle and entered the southbound lane, Joliet police said.

Her vehicle was then struck by a semitrailer that was traveling south on Louise Ray Parkway, police said.

Police determined the road conditions were icy at the time of the crash.

The coroner’s office will determine the final cause and manner of Luevano-Lara’s death following the review of police, autopsy and toxicology reports.
