A man was arrested in Rockdale when he attacked and used a racial slur against an officer, police said.
On Saturday, officers responded to the area of Moen and Davis avenues to check on the welfare of a man later identified as Ryan Chambers-Kaiser, 21, of the 500 block of Meadow Avenue, according to Rockdale police.
The officers asked Chambers-Kaiser if he needed any assistance and he was “very confrontational, verbally abusive towards officers and exhibited signs of narcotic use,” police said.
Chambers-Kaiser had “kicked an officer, head-butted an officer,” and called the officer a racial slur before he was taken into custody, police said.
The officer was not injured, police said.

Chambers-Kaiser was evaluated at a hospital before he was taken to the Will County jail on probable cause of aggravated battery to an officer, police said.
Chambers-Kaiser’s bond was set at $5,000 and he was released from jail Monday afternoon after he posted 10% of that amount.
