Will County Chief Judge Dan Kennedy ordered that masks must be worn in the Will County Courthouse and other court facilities starting Monday.

Kennedy issued his administrative order Friday morning, declaring that because “the COVID-19 pandemic has caused thousands of deaths and illnesses throughout the world” and “Will County has been deemed an area of substantial transmission of COVID-19,″ masks must be worn in the court facilities starting Monday.

Kennedy’s order also cited a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendation.

The mask mandate will remain in effect “until further notice,” Kennedy said in the order.
