Plainfield North sophomore Jessica Kovalcik remains in the state title hunt after going 3-0 during the opening day of competition at the Class 2A Girls Tennis State Tournament.

Led by doubles runners-up Sophia Kim and Katie Dollens, Hinsdale Central won its 19th state tennis championship on Saturday in Class 2A. Timothy Christian tied for third in Class 1A.
