Lisa Thompson was outstanding for Joliet West on Friday in the Tigers’ 61-49 victory over Oswego East in Joliet.
Thompson led the way with 29 points as West improved to 11-1 overall and 7-0 in the Southwest Prairie Conference. Caside Snapp added 13 points, and Grace Walsh pitched in with eight points.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Nazareth 51, Joliet Catholic 46: At La Grange Park, the Hilltoppers came up a bit short in a conference matchup on the road.
Alex Brown and Anthony Birsa scored 10 points each for JCA (8-7, 0-6).
Providence 66, Brother Rice 43: At Chicago, the Celtics let one get away down the stretch and took a road loss.
Jack Wajda scored 15 points in the loss.
Dwight 54, Morris 52: At Morris, Jeremy Kapper and Wyatt Thompson came through with huge performances on the road for the Trojans.
Kapper scored 23 and Thompson was just behind him with 21 in the overtime victory.
Lockport 56, Bradley-Bourbonnais 46: At Bradley, the Porters played efficiently in a win over the Boilermakers.
The Porters got out ahead early and led 34-18 at halftime. Eight players scored in the win, and Lockport had 13 assists on 21 field goals.
Minooka 42, Plainfield East 39: At Minooka, the home team came away with a victory in spite of an off-night offensively.
