The Lincoln-Way Central girls basketball team picked up an impressive nonconference victory Wednesday, toppling Kankakee, 49-36.
Kankakee was ranked No. 10 in the Class 3A Associated Press poll.
Haley Stoklosa had 21 points as Lincoln-Way Central improved to 4-2.
Gardner-South Wilmington 49, Tri-Point 22: The Panthers breezed to a River Valley Conference win in improving to 5-0 on the season.
Addy Fair led Gardner with 18 points, and Kylie Hawks chipped in 10.
Seneca 46, Plano 31: The Fighting Irish outscored the Reapers, 16-2, in the fourth quarter to earn the victory.
Addie Eltrevoog led Seneca (5-0) with 15 points.
Peotone 75, Grace Christian 14: The Blue Devils spread the offense around as nine players scored at least six points apiece.
Marissa Velasco scored 14 points to lead Peotone (3-0).
BOYS BASKETBALL
Marist 69, Joliet Catholic 55: Alex Brown had 14 points for the Hilltoppers (0-3) as they dropped the East Suburban Catholic Conference game.
Fenwick 50, Providence 36: Jimmy Arentz led Providence (1-2) with nine points in the loss.
Hillcrest 77, Lemont 67: The Indians’ (2-1) upset bid fell short in South Suburban Conference play.
Morris 68, Plano 63: Zack Romak led Morris (1-1) with 21 points, and Patrick McPherson added 20.
BOYS BOWLING
Lockport 2,345, Bradley-Bourbonnais 1,964: The Porters rolled a strong 1,209 in the second game to cruise to a win over their SouthWest Suburban Conference foes.
Jason Laba led Lockport with a 504 two-game series, while Jimmy Kontos rolled Lockport’s high game of 287.
GIRLS BOWLING
Minooka 2,725, Joliet Central 2,350: The Indians posted a huge score in a win over the Steelmen.
Bri Gilson led the way for Minooka with a 561 three-game series, and Jenna Newton (548), Natalie Schielhouse (544) and Megan Gilson (539) were close behind.
Devon Thomas recorded the top series of the day for Joliet Central with a 570.
Lockport 2,136, Bradley-Bourbonnais 1,381: Emma Punter paced the Porters to the comfortable SouthWest Suburban Conference win with a 481 two-game series.
Plainfield South 2313, Romeoville 2010: Laura Rohlfs led the way with a 509 three-game series for the Cougars as four Plainfield South players posted series over 425.
Gabriella Moran led Romeoville with a 465 series.
Plainfield Central 2,588, Plainfield North 2,135: Kathleen Schraer led the Wildcats with a 213 game and 591 series as they picked up the Southwest Prairie Conference win.
