The CITGO Lemont Refinery presented the Greater Joliet Area YMCA with a generous $7,500 donation at the Galowich Family YMCA on Houbolt Road in Joliet. The donation will support the YMCA’s Mission Strong Fund helping ensure that no one is turned away from the Y due to inability to pay.

The CITGO Lemont Refinery recently donated $7,500 to the Greater Joliet Area YMCA to help support the YMCA’s Mission Strong Fund, according to a news release from CITGO.

This fund helps to ensure that “no one is turned away from the Y due to inability to pay,” according to the release.

Dennis Willig, CITGO Lemont vice president and general manager, said in the release that “CITGO is proud to continue partnering with the Greater Joliet Area YMCA” and that CITGO supports the Y’s mission of youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

Katy Leclair, chief executive officer of the Greater Joliet Area YMCA said the YMCA is thankful for CITGO’s support of the Y and the 2021 YMCA Gala.

“CITGO has a long history of supporting initiatives in our community and has been a wonderful partner of the Y for many, many years,” Leclair said in the release. “We are humbled by CITGO’s continued support of our mission and the communities we serve.”

Since 1926, the Greater Joliet Area YMCA has served families in Will County and its surrounding areas – ”regardless of age, income or background,” according to the Greater Joliet Area’s YMCA website.

The YMCA “encourages good health, and fosters connections through fitness, sports, fun and shared interests,” according to the website.
