Morris Hospital updates its visitor guidelines again

The update is because of rising COVID-19 cases

Effective Wednesday, patients hospitalized at Morris Hospital are allowed only one visitor for the duration of their stay, according to a news release from Morris Hospital.

The designated visitor must be at least 18 and must visit during regular visiting hours. No other visitors will be allowed.

The news visitor guidelines are in response to the rising COVID-19 cases in the community, according to the release.

Patients with COVID-19 still may not have visitors, according to the release.

However, people can request special arrangements for the following COVID-19 patients: patients who are 17 or younger, patients at the end of life or patients who are “intellectually and/or developmentally disabled or diagnosed with an impairment that affects understanding, judgment, or decision-making,” according to the release.

One support person age 18 or older may accompany patients to the emergency department; for an outpatient procedure, test, surgery or therapy session; to immediate care or convenient care; and to doctor visits, according to the release.
