Rotary Club of New Lenox held golf outing to raise the money

Rotary Club of New Lenox recently donated $20,000 to MorningStar Mission in Joliet. The club had raised the money at its fourth annual Rotary 4 Golf Outing, which was held on June 16 at The Sanctuary in New Lenox.

MorningStar Mission in Joliet recently received a donation of $20,000 from the Rotary Club of New Lenox, according to a release from the club.

The club raised the money at its fourth annual Rotary 4 Golf Outing on June 16 at The Sanctuary in New Lenox. More than 30 local sponsors supported the golf outing and 146 people came out to golf, according to the release.

The 2022 Rotary 4 Golf Outing is scheduled for June 15, 2022, also at The Sanctuary in New Lenox.

In all, the Rotary Club of New Lenox has donated $71,832.31 to MorningStar Mission.

MorningStar Mission, a nondenominational organization that began in 1909 to help people in need, is “dedicated to relieving the spiritual and physical hunger of the poor by providing food for the hungry, clothes for the needy, shelter for the homeless and the gospel of Jesus Christ for all,” its website said.

The mission offers a variety of programs, including meals, a thrift store, a drop-in center, counseling, and programs for men, women and children.
