Dwight wins in girls basketball; Minooka wins in boys basketball

Girls basketball

Coal City 57, Sandwich 40: Kylee Kennell put 17 points on the board to lead the Coalers to a nonconference victory Wednesday. Emma Rodriguez had 15 points, and Sydney Larson chipped in eight for Coal City.

Dwight 51, Fieldcrest 46: At Dwight, the hosts battled and came out on top for a nonconference win.

Nazareth 70, Joliet Catholic 40: At Nazareth, the Hilltoppers lost in nonconference play.

Boys basketball

Minooka 67, East Aurora 36: All 12 players for Minooka scored during a nonconference victory.

Nathan Gonzalez had 12 points and two steals, and Jeremiah Brown and Brady Hairald combined to score 20 points.

Serena 56, Reed-Custer 47: At Serena, Jacob Reardon had 19 points and seven rebounds, but the Comets fell in nonconference action. Matt Kuban added seven points.

Crete-Monee 47, Joliet Central 26: The Steelmen lost in nonconference play.

Boys bowling

Lockport 3,354, Plainfield South 2,549: Wade Cronwall led the way with a 701 series for the Porters during a Southwest Prairie Conference win. Nate Cantrall bowled a 682.

Girls bowling

Plainfield Central 2,570, Yorkville 2,570: The Wildcats tied Yorkville in a Southwest Prairie Conference matchup.

Boys wrestling

Lincoln-Way Central 55, Bolingbrook 14: Ryne Nape was one of many Knights who earned wins to help Central to a Southwest Prairie Conference victory. Ethan Harvey, Jalen Byrd, Caden Harvey and Justin Langford also contributed wins for Central.
