Minooka wins girls basketball, Joliet Central wins boys wrestling

Girls basketball

Lincoln-Way West 54, Lincoln-Way Central 43: Caroline Smith put 25 points on the board and had 12 rebounds and three blocks to help the Warriors to a Southwest Suburban Conference victory.

Ava Tisch and Molly Finn each chipped in with nine points for West.

Minooka 73, Romeoville 37: At Minooka, the hosts dominated for a Southwest Prairie Conference win.

Clifton Central 49, Gardner-South Wilmington 33: Maya Cacello had 13 points but the Panthers fell in River Valley Conference action.

Maddie Simms had eight points and Grace Olsen added six for GSW.

Somonauk 40, Reed-Custer 38: The Comets battled but came up short in nonconference play.

Gwen Stewart had nine points, five rebounds and three steals for Reed-Custer.

Boys wrestling

Joliet Central 60, Plainfield Central 18: Charles Walker won his 100th career match and the Steelmen picked up a Southwest Prairie Conference victory.

Walker is the first to achieve this honor for the school in 12 years.

Oswego East 53, Bolingbrook 24: The Wolves battled and came out on top for a Southwest Prairie Conference win.
