The Peace Garden at McHenry VFW Post 4600 was built in 2020 to give veterans a peaceful place and community food pantries a source for fresh fruits and vegetables throughout the growing season.

Annual Spirit of '45 event honors WWII veterans and the "Greatest Generation," organizers said. This year's tribute includes a special photo display of veterans.
