Illinois’ changing demographics subject of online seminar

Several online events — including one that looks at the implications of the 2020 Census — are part of the upcoming calendar for the University of Illinois Extension for Carroll, Lee and Whiteside Counties.

The census webinar will be noon Tuesday. Participants are asked to register in advance. A link can be found at https://extension.illinois.edu/clw.

Zach Kennedy, a specialist in community and economic development based in Urbana is the presenter.

The focus is on the state’s shifting demographics and its increasing diversity.

The program will compare data from the state’s urban and rural communities to that of neighboring states.

Webinar participants will be able to ask questions.

The other online activities are the Four Seasons Gardening Webinar Series, 1 p.m. Tuesday; 4-H officer training at 7 p.m. on Tuesday; SCORE: Mentoring Resource for Illinois’ Small Business, noon, Dec. 7; Get Savvy: Grow Your Green Stuff financial advice, noon, Dec. 8; Everyday Environment and stewardship, 1 p.m., Dec. 9; and Mental Health First Aid for the Agriculture Community, 8 a.m., Dec. 10.
