Polo man, 23, facing child pornography charges

POLO – A 23-year-old Polo man is in Ogle County jail, charged with three counts of possession of child pornography, the State Police said in a news release.

Tristan C. Smith was arrested after a search of his home in the 600 block of Mason Street that was conducted in the wake of a multi-agency investigation, the release said.

Evidence supporting the charges and five weapons were seized, the release said. No details were provided on either.

Smith has a bond hearing at 1 p.m. Thursday; he faces 3 to 7 years on each count.

The ISP Division of Criminal Investigation, District 1 Troopers, Homeland Security, Dixon Police Department, Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, and Polo Police Department, conducted the search, the release said.

The investigation is ongoing.
