CHICAGO – An 18-year-old Rochelle man may be facing charges in a fatal crash involving five vehicles on Interstate 88 in Cook County.

According to a news release today from the State Police:

Around 11 p.m. Monday, a Jeep Cherokee became disabled in the left lane of I-88 at mile marker 139.25, just south of Hillside. A black Chevy parked behind it, hazards flashing, and its driver got out to help the Jeep get onto the left shoulder.

A Volkswagen Golf pulled behind the Chevy to avoid a collision, and Keanon S. Voss, driving a Honda Accord, came from behind at a high rate of speed, hit all three vehicles and the Chevy’s driver, 24-year-old Dion T. Skinner of Wheaton.

Skinner immediately was hit again by a Toyota Highlander. He died at the scene.

The Cherokee driver, from Naperville, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries; Voss and the other two drivers, from Chicago and Naperville, were not injured, the release said.

The investigation is ongoing.
