Whiteside County reports 14 COVID-19 cases Tuesday

Coronavirus cases in the Sauk Valley

Whiteside County reported 14 new coronavirus cases Tuesday.

There were four cases younger than 20, one each in their 20s, 30s, and 40s, three in their 50s, two in their 70s, and two in their 80s, as well as 100 new recoveries. Whiteside has had a total of 7,215 cases, 170 deaths and 6,604 recoveries.

Whiteside County has administered 36,685 total doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, with 16,928 people (30.43%) fully vaccinated. Lee County has had 22,994 doses, with 11,100 people (32.43%) fully vaccinated. Carroll County has administered 8,229 vaccine doses, with 4,051 people (28.30%) fully vaccinated. Ogle County has had 34,687 doses, with 16,234 people (31.81%) fully vaccinated.

The North region (Boone, Carroll, DeKalb, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside, and Winnebago counties) has maintained a positivity rate below 8% for 116 days. The region’s positivity rate decreased to 4.5%.

Currently, 17% of ICU beds are available. Tuesday is the 29th straight day this region is under 20% ICU capacity.

Lee County’s rate decreased to 1%, and Whiteside County’s decreased to 2.2%.

Hospitalizations decreased or remained stable eight out of the past 10 days in this region.

Illinois announced 1,562 cases and 26 deaths Tuesday. The state has had 1,357,953 cases and 22,261 deaths.
