Lee County reports 18 COVID-19 cases Friday

Coronavirus cases in the Sauk Valley

Lee County reported 18 new coronavirus cases Friday.

There were four younger than 12, one teen, five in their 20s, two in their 30s and 40s, two in their 50s, two in their 60s, and two in their 70s and 80s totaling 3,874 cases and 70 deaths.

Whiteside County has administered 36,084 total doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, with 16,477 people (29.62%) fully vaccinated. Lee County has had 22,505 doses, with 10,732 people (31.36%) fully vaccinated. Carroll County has administered 7,999 vaccine doses, with 3,856 people (26.94%) fully vaccinated. Ogle County has had 33,980 doses, with 15,670 people (30.77%) fully vaccinated.

The North region (Boone, Carroll, DeKalb, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside, and Winnebago counties) has maintained a positivity rate below 8% for 111 days. The region’s positivity rate decreased to 5.4%.

Currently, 18% of ICU beds are available. Friday is the 25th straight day this region is under 20% ICU capacity.

Lee County’s rate stayed flat at 1.2%, and Whiteside County’s decreased to 3.6%.

Hospitalizations have decreased or remained stable eight out of the past 10 days in this region.

Illinois announced 3,321 cases and 36 deaths Friday totaling 1,351,497 cases, including 22,171 deaths.
