Putnam County Pumas win first seventh grade volleyball championship

The Putnam County Junior High 7th grade volleyball team captured their first regional volleyball championship Tuesday, March 1, 2022, defeating Streator Woodland, 25-15, 25-21 in their own regional.

The Putnam County Junior High seventh grade volleyball team captured their first regional volleyball championship, defeating Streator Woodland, 25-15, 25-21 in their own regional, on Tuesday, March 1.

The Lady Pumas also defeated Midland 25-9, 25-15 and Henry 25-19, 20-25, 25-18 in regional play.

PC (9-6) advances to the sectional championship at Brimfield vs. Brimfield (11-6) at 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 7.

In other season highlights:

• The eighth grade won the Marseilles Tournament and the seventh grade took fourth.

• The sixth grade placed third in the Parkside Tournament.

• The seventh grade took third in the Tri-County Conference Tournament.
