STANDARD — Putnam County veterans were honored Thursday at the site of Standard’s newly-constructed memorial.

Veteran Ron Bluemer spoke to the gathered crowd Thursday about the sacrifice made by veterans and the importance of remembering those who served.

The memorial, which is funded by donations, features flags for each branch of the military and prisoners of war. The village is accepting donations to complete the memorial.
